Privacy Policy

How PlainApp handles your data.

Last updated: July 2026

Overview

PlainApp (the Android application) is a local-network application. All communication between your Android device and your browser happens directly over your local Wi-Fi. The app does not route your files, messages, contacts, or call logs through any external server. This privacy policy describes both the Android app and the PlainApp website (https://plainapp.app).

Data Collection by the Android App

The PlainApp Android app does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, files, messages, contacts, or call history to external servers. All data processed by the app remains on your device and your local network. We have no access to this information.

Cookies & Website Storage

The PlainApp website uses cookies and local storage. Essential storage includes your language preference and theme choice — these are set without requiring consent. When you accept cookies via the consent banner, we additionally set advertising cookies (see the section below). You can reject non-essential cookies at any time using the banner. The website does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics service.

Third-Party Services & Advertising

When you consent, the website loads Google AdSense and related Google advertising services. These services may set cookies (such as IDE, _gads) on your browser to display and measure personalized advertising, and may transmit your IP address, device information, and a pseudonymous advertising identifier to Google. We do not control the data these services collect — please review Google's Privacy Policy for details. The Android app itself contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Fonts

The website uses the Inter font, licensed under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. The font files are self-hosted on our own server — no request is sent to Google Fonts or any third-party font service, so no IP address is transmitted to a third party when loading the font.

Data Retention & Your Rights

Android app data is stored locally on your device; uninstalling the app removes all of it, and we have no server-side data to retain. Advertising data collected via the website is processed by Google under its retention policies. Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, as well as the right to data portability. To exercise these rights regarding data collected by Google services, please use Google's My Activity tools. For any questions about this policy, contact us at the address shown on the Contact page.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page with the new terms and the last-updated date.
