Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the F-Droid version often behind?

F-Droid builds applications from source code on their own servers. This independent compilation process and verification can lead to delays in new releases appearing on their platform.

Why is the Google Play Store version often behind?

The Google Play Store requires a formal review process for every update, which means we cannot release versions as freely as we do on GitHub. We typically wait until a version is highly stable before submitting it to the Play Store.

Which version should I download?

  • Choose GitHub: If you want the most immediate access to new features, latest bug fixes, and the complete set of functionalities. The GitHub version also supports built-in auto-updates.
  • Choose Google Play: If you prefer the convenience of the Play Store. However, be aware that due to strict store policies, this version lacks several core features, including SMS management, App management, and Notification Mirroring.
  • Note on F-Droid: While F-Droid offers a privacy-focused experience, it lacks the AI Image Search feature. This is because the feature relies on com.google.ai.edge.litert, a library that does not meet F-Droid's strict Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) standards.
